Where exactly is the East Village facility?+
We're at 24 Avenue B (194 East 2nd Street), New York, NY 10009, in the heart of Alphabet City, one block from the corner of 2nd Street and Avenue B. The F at 2nd Ave (Houston) and L at 1st Ave or 3rd Ave (14th St) are both a walkable distance away.
What are the access hours?+
The facility is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight). You access your unit using the Urban Stash app — no key, no front desk check-in, just tap and go.
How does the no-key, app-based access work?+
After booking, you'll receive access to the Urban Stash app, which controls both the building entrance and your individual unit via smart lock. Your phone is your key. If you get a new phone or lose access, support can sort it out quickly.
Is there a minimum rental period?+
No long-term commitment required. All rentals are month-to-month. We ask for 30 days' notice when you're ready to move out.
Are my payments secure?+
Yes, all transactions use bank-level encryption. You can manage billing, review your account, and update payment info from the app.
What security is in place at the facility?+
24 Avenue B has 24/7 security cameras, keypad entry, smart-lock hardware on every unit, and instant approval so only verified renters can access the building. A protection plan is included with every unit.
What size unit do I need?+
Small units ($80/mo) handle seasonal items, luggage, and boxes. Medium units ($192/mo) are best for bikes, instruments, and apartment overflow. Large units ($320/mo) hold a full studio or one-bedroom's contents. Our sizing guide has exact dimensions for every tier.
Can I store a bike in a medium unit?+
Yes, medium units (6'w × 4'd × 7.5'h) fit most standard road and city bikes, plus additional gear alongside them. Check the dimensions before booking if you have an oversized frame.
Do you serve Stuy Town and Gramercy residents?+
Yes. Stuyvesant Town is about a 10-minute walk west on 2nd Street. Gramercy Park and Kips Bay residents can reach us by walking east along 14th, 2nd, or 3rd Street, or taking the 6 train to Astor Place.
Do you serve the Lower East Side too?+
Yes. 24 Avenue B is a single location that also serves the Lower East Side — Chinatown, Two Bridges, Nolita, and the Bowery are all a short walk or one subway stop away. View 24 Avenue B.
