What makes this short-term storage — can I really rent month-to-month?+
Yes. Every Urban Stash rental is month-to-month. There's no long-term commitment, no minimum lease period, and no penalty for ending early. We ask for 30 days' notice when you're ready to move out. That's it.
Is there a deposit?+
There's no deposit. You can start your rental without putting any money down upfront beyond your first month.
How quickly can I get access after booking?+
Access to the Urban Stash app — your key to the building and your unit — is sent after booking. You can move in on your scheduled start date without coordinating with anyone in person.
What size unit do I need for a between-lease hold?+
It depends on what you're storing. Our large unit (10'w × 4'd × 7.5'h, ~40–80 sq ft) holds a full studio or one-bedroom's contents including furniture. Medium units (6'w × 4'd × 7.5'h, ~24 sq ft) are better suited to boxes, a bike, and a few furniture pieces. Our sizing guide walks through it in more detail.
How does the no-key access work?+
After booking, you'll receive access to the Urban Stash app, which controls both the building entrance and your individual unit via smart lock. Your phone is your key. If you get a new phone or need to update your access, support can sort it out quickly.
What are the access hours?+
6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight), daily. No appointments, no front desk, no exceptions to negotiate. Just tap and go.
Can I store a bike in a medium unit?+
Yes. Medium units (6'w × 4'd × 7.5'h) fit most standard road and city bike frames, with room for additional gear alongside. If you have an oversized or cargo bike frame, check the dimensions before booking.
What's included with every unit?+
Smart-lock access via the Urban Stash app, 24/7 security camera monitoring, and a protection plan from day one. No additional setup fees.
Do you serve the Lower East Side?+
Yes — from the same place. 24 Avenue B is a single location that also serves the Lower East Side, including Chinatown, Two Bridges, NoHo, and Nolita. Same month-to-month pricing and app-based access, whichever neighborhood you're coming from.
What if I need temporary storage in NYC for just a few weeks?+
All rentals are month-to-month, so you're never paying for more time than you need. If you move in mid-month, your billing reflects your actual start date. There's no minimum beyond one month.
